LE MEMOIR
DU SWITZERLAND

What’s happening in travel right now isn’t about novelty. It’s about alignment.
People want trips that reflect who they are and what they need in this moment of their lives. They want to return home feeling calmer, more connected, and more present—not just tired (a.k.a., “needing a vacation from your vacation!”).
For me, Banff, Greece, and Costa Rica all offered that in different ways—through shared meals, movement, conversation, and moments of stillness. Mountains, sea, rainforest. Friends, family, and tables where we lingered longer than planned.
“How we travel shapes how the experience stays with us.”
And here’s the thing: travel doesn’t have to be a big, international trip to be meaningful.
Some of the most transformative experiences can happen just two to four hours from home. A weekend away. A nearby town you’ve never fully explored. Even being a tourist in your own city—seeing familiar streets, museums, and restaurants through fresh eyes—can shift perspective in powerful ways.
Travel is about intention, not distance.
It also doesn’t have to cost as much as people think. Using credit cards that earn points and miles can make flights far more accessible. And for accommodations, platforms like HomeExchange make it affordable and possible to enjoy the comforts of home while experiencing a new city or country—often allowing for longer, slower stays that feel more like living than visiting.
Travel doesn’t just take us somewhere else. At its best,it brings us back—to ourselves, to the people we love, and to the moments that matter most.
When we travel with intention, the experience stays with us in ways that truly last.
